There are two main components to a SonicWALL wireless access solution: SonicWALL firewall appliances and SonicWALL SonicPoints. The SonicWALL firewall appliances provide wireless access and can also function as a secure wireless switch, and SonicWALL SonicPoints function as access points, and enforce all security policies. There is no need for a separate wireless appliance at the perimeter. Because wireless access is delivered as part of your SonicWALL firewall gateway appliance, your wireless network enjoys the same protection as the rest of your network, with Unified Threat Management, gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware and intrusion prevention, and content filtering services. In addition, you will also be able to deploy Wireless Guest Services throughout the network, and uninterrupted roaming between SonicPoints.
